Comments: Just found this great site, Thank You.
About to replace the coolant in our 2000 F250 SD. Has the green stuff that I replaced back in 2012, about 30,000 miles ago, along with water pump, hoses etc. And have added a coolant filter (from Diesel Site) that I have replaced every few years. This truck only gets driven in the spring and summer months.
Current coolant is clean and tests up to about 260 degrees with one of those Prestone testers.
After reading your write-up, I am considering one of the ELC type coolants
Any advice or pitfalls do I need to look out for when doing this change?
Thank you .

Comments: Purchased my 2004 F250 4x4 5.4 last summer as my first "new" (to me) car. Had very minor issues until one day my 4x4 wouldn't engage, and I found this site. Your write ups have been very useful to me, and I am extremely grateful I found your site. Thank you and hope all is well!

Comments: Love what you have here and very helpful. However, where is the brake flush and transmission fluid change. Maybe talk about rebuilding the fuel bowl or do a delete.

Comments: Thanks for all the information and write ups. Will be passing this site on to my brother for his 2002 F350 7.3. We work on that truck together at times to keep her going.

Comments: Thanks for the great web site. I have a 2001 4x4 7.3 Super Cab Long bed in Toriador Red over Black. The truck is immaculate and now has 135,000 miles. I have put 98,000 of those on. I love the truck. I pull a 30' toy hauler behind it with an Indian Chieftain motorcycle in it. It's been from WA State to Daytona and back 7 times. It's an old friend to me, the 2nd owner having bought it in 2012. I have done most of the mods you list and more. I do the maintenance and repairs myself. I just wanted to say thank you for your help. I appreciate you.
Comments: Sorry to hear about your 2000...I hv a 2002 crew cab and I still enjoy driving it every day..I really like your info and detailed articles and tips...Getting ready to kind of refresh mine.(Back seat fold upgrade from newer year, recover seats carpet, paint and outside rack and maybe drawer build to accomadate lights, tools, bikes and fishing kayaks.) Drivetrain still strong as an ox with maintenance. She still looks sweet in and out with Lariat and teal paint but it would be my cheap version of a new tough truck...Hate to see you not updating your old but cheers to the next chapter. You hv great talent on writeups and advice thx Larry
